"Long before the first brushstroke touches the canvas, the painting has already begun."

A Conversation with Your Soul

One of the questions I am asked most often is, "How do you create an intuitive soul painting?"

The simplest answer is this:

I listen.

Not with my ears, but with my heart, my intuition, and the quiet space that exists beneath everyday life.

Every Soul Painting begins long before paint ever touches the canvas. It begins with connection.

When someone reaches out through my Soul Art Commission Inquiry on the Connection page, they aren't simply ordering a painting.

They're beginning a journey.

I take time to learn about you—what season of life you're walking through, what hopes you're carrying, what healing you're seeking, or what transformation is unfolding. Sometimes you have a clear intention. Other times, you simply feel called without knowing exactly why.

Both are beautiful places to begin.

I believe our souls often know what we need long before our minds can put words to it.

Opening Sacred Space

Before I begin painting, I create space for stillness.

I cleanse my studio, settle into meditation, and invite inspiration to arrive naturally. This quiet ritual helps me set aside the noise of daily life so I can become fully present with the creative process.

From there, I begin exploring the symbolic language that wants to emerge.

Listening Through the Cards

One of the first steps is an intuitive oracle and tarot reading.

The cards don't tell the future—they offer guidance, reflection, and another doorway into understanding the energy surrounding your journey.

As the cards are revealed, certain themes begin to appear.

Perhaps it's courage.

Healing.

Transformation.

Trust.

New beginnings.

Alongside the cards, I often work intuitively with charms, crystals, colors, mythology, animals, flowers, celestial symbols, and elements from nature. These become clues, gently weaving together the visual language of your painting.

Sometimes a dragonfly appears.

Sometimes wolves.

Ancient trees.

A moonlit path.

A castle hidden in the distance.

Every symbol arrives for a reason.

When the Painting Begins to Speak

Only after all of this preparation do I begin painting.

Layer by layer, texture by texture, the artwork slowly reveals itself.

There are moments when I know exactly where the painting is going.

There are other moments when I simply trust the next brushstroke.

I've learned not to force the process.

The painting always knows where it wants to lead me.

Because I work intuitively, no two pieces are ever alike.

Each one becomes as unique as the soul it was created for.

More Than a Painting

When your Soul Painting is complete, you'll receive far more than an original piece of art.

Together, your experience includes:

  • An original, one-of-a-kind intuitive painting created especially for you.

  • A personalized oracle and tarot card reading that helped guide the creative process.

  • A written interpretation exploring the symbolism, colors, imagery, and messages found within your painting.

  • Reflections on the cards and how they connect to your personal journey.

  • A collection of thoughtful journal prompts designed to help you continue exploring the wisdom your painting reveals.

Many people tell me they discover new meanings in their painting months—or even years—later.

Just like us, the artwork continues to unfold over time.

A Living Conversation

I don't believe art is meant to simply decorate a wall.

I believe it can comfort us.

Challenge us.

Remind us of our strength.

Reflect parts of ourselves we've forgotten.

Offer hope during difficult seasons.

Become an anchor during times of change.

The paintings I create are meant to become companions on your journey—quiet reminders of who you are becoming and the wisdom already living within you.

Trusting the Process

Creating intuitive artwork isn't something that can be rushed.

Each commission typically takes up to four weeks as I move thoughtfully through every stage of the process while balancing my creative practice with my part-time work.

I believe meaningful things take time.

Every layer, every symbol, every brushstroke is placed with intention.

When your painting finally arrives, my hope is that you'll feel something deeper than excitement.

I hope you'll feel recognized.

As though a piece of your own story has been translated into color, texture, and symbol.

An Invitation

If you've been feeling drawn toward an intuitive Soul Painting, I invite you to follow that quiet whisper.

You don't need to have all the answers.

You don't need to know exactly what you want the painting to look like.

You only need a willingness to trust the journey.

If your heart is saying yes, you can begin by completing the Soul Art Commission Inquiry on the Connection page of my website.

Together, we'll create something that is more than a painting.

We'll create a reflection of your soul—a piece of your journey that you can return to again and again, discovering new layers of meaning each time you look at it.

Thank you for allowing me to share this sacred work with you.

With gratitude,

Jen ~Jen Dragonfly Studio
